Do you live IN your body or WITH a body?
The personal attitude towards one's own body can have impressive effects on the overall well-being. Therefore the question: Do I live IN my body or WITH a body? The positive effects on people who find their way back to being on the move with the help of the Alexander Technique are impressive.
As babies, most of us live fully in our bodies. We discover it playfully and with all our senses, feel completely at ease or communicate our pain and discomfort fully to our environment without social filters. What remains is complete relaxation.
For over 15 years it has been my purpose to support people in experiencing an enriching relationship with their bodies.
I myself feel as good as a baby and am happy and grateful for the life I am allowed to live intensively.
But that was not always the case...
Everything looked very different when I was young
When I was 25, I cut off most of my connection with my body. My body was just a burden that caused me constant pain and made my life difficult. Everything was so incredibly exhausting, oppressive and burdensome. I just wanted to get away - out of my own body....
In part, I managed to be spiritually free. However, I remained trapped in a body. The consequences:
My feet went numb and I didn't even notice them any more.
The pain increased.
I became more and more tired... incredibly tired.
I became more and more unhappy and sad; I felt overwhelmed and stressed more and more often.
Is there a way back?
Feeling comfortable in your body again is a process. Depending on how long you have been ignoring your body, it can take a while until you feel - or allow - a strong connection again.
Why is an external person useful?
Those affected have become accustomed to their predicament and have developed physical, emotional and mental habitual patterns that strongly influence their own behaviour.
Two quotes from F.M. Alexander speak volumes:
"Change involves carrying out an activity against the habit of life."
"You can't do something you don't know, if you keep on doing what you know."
One-to-one coaching with the input of trained Alexander Technique hands can help you recognise disturbing thought patterns. In addition, you can sense physical imbalances and patterns and thus regain more well-being and ease in all areas through the integrating bodywork of the Alexander Technique.
Learning to build and cultivate a strong and good connection with your body again, this brings...
more well-being and quality of life
more lightness, serenity and power
more joy and self-determination
Your body is a valuable resource!
For whom is the Alexander Technique suitable?
If you are a person who wants to positively influence your health yourself.
If you are motivated / committed to cultivating and caring for your body and your relationship with it, but you do not yet know the tools to do so.
If you want to change your situation and are ready to try new ways and possibilities.
How often and over what period of time should one make use of Alexander Technique sessions?
A regular 60-minute session every week or every fortnight is very useful at the beginning of the process so that you can promptly integrate your experiences and new insights into everyday life.
Recommendation regarding number of sessions:
Three Alexander Technique sessions: If you already have good self-awareness and know roughly what you want to change.
Six Alexander Technique sessions: If you have a moderate self-awareness and do not know what you should change to experience more well-being again.
Nine AlexanderTechnique sessions: If you cannot perceive yourself well and have developed no or a negative connection to your body.
