Autumn/Winter - Time to let go

Actually, nature shows us how to do it year after year: The trees change colour in autumn and create wonderful moods in the sunlight. Later, the leaves fall to the delight of many children. The trees literally let go and prepare themselves for winter. They allow themselves a creative break to blossom again in full splendour in spring. This opportunity is also offered to us humans.

Do you know this fear of letting go? Like being paralysed? Why does it still make sense to deal with the topic of letting go?

Imagine that someone has never learned or experienced the ability to let go and thus accumulates all the experiences of their entire life? The body stores and memorises all experiences, often by holding on to the memories with muscle power, because how is it supposed to know which experiences to let go of and process and which not? This is exactly what our conscious mental and emotional participation is needed for. It is an interplay and not a solo performance. If you have accumulated a lot of old burdens, the body can feel very heavy, immobile and tight. You might feel tense, have tension headaches, etc. It's almost like a flat where everything has accumulated since you were born and there's hardly any way to get through.

Of course, letting go sometimes has a negative connotation, because the word is often associated with loss. A loss of friends, a job, health, a loved one. But what if you put the word in a positive context? After all, letting go can also be liberating, give you more space and time, promote health and have a calming effect. What's more, it increases one's ability to cope better with losses.

Is it time for you to cultivate letting go? To free yourself from old burdens? To allow yourself more looseness, serenity? Now in autumn and winter is the perfect time to do so.
