Perspective
For couples therapy to be successful, both partners must be willing to work on themselves. Often, however, a certain unwillingness on the part of one side can already be overcome in the first session, when wishes and needs are honestly discussed and hope for a more solved togetherness arises. In couples therapy, the hope for restoration is held out as long as the partners are willing to engage in it.
Duration and costs
First consultative meeting
The first counseling session gives you the opportunity to get to know the therapist and to find out whether you feel that you are in good hands with your concerns. If, contrary to expectations, you decide not to continue with counseling, a flat rate of CHF 100.00 will be charged for the service provided. If you decide to continue with the counseling process, the normal costs for the first session will also apply.
Duration and number of advisory meetings
A maximum of 90 minutes is reserved for each session, but these are not always fully utilized.
Since changes in life can only succeed if new habits are practiced, a consultation usually lasts five sessions for the first time. Exceptions to this can be agreed. In the fifth session, an assessment of the current situation is carried out or, if desired, the final session is held. In any case, the counseling process ends with a final session to be agreed in advance.
Billing and invoicing
The fee is charged to the nearest 5 minutes according to the time spent.
One hour (60 minutes) costs CHF 180.00 (incl. VAT). A reduced rate from CHF 160.00 (incl. VAT) is available on request. The services cannot be covered by health insurance. However, for couples with financial restrictions, there is a social fund set up especially for paarcoach.ch, which allows a rate below the stated minimum. For this purpose, it is necessary to submit the last definitive tax invoice to a designated fiduciary office for assessment. Please ask for the corresponding documentation with the applicable tariff regulation, which allows a minimum hourly rate of CHF 64.00 if necessary.
Data protection, confidentiality, complaint
When dealing with personal data and any complaints, the therapist undertakes to adhere to the ACC Code of Ethics, the Association for Christian Counseling and Pastoral Care(www.acc-ch.ch). ACC is a member of SGfB, the Swiss umbrella organization for psychosocial counselling.
My person
After a university degree (Ing. ETH) I completed a theological education and then worked for seven years as a pastoral counselor with individuals and couples. Through an extra-occupational study of psychology (Christian Psychology, Ignis Academy, D-Kitzingen) and further education in the field of couple counseling (among others PREPARE/ENRICH) I have access to different ways of coping with partnership problems. My rich experience in working with couples is also based on seventeen years of establishing and leading the preventive couple and family initiative FAMILYLIFE. I achieved the therapeutic qualification in 2015 with a CAS in Couples Therapy at the Psychological Institute of the University of Zurich under the direction of Prof. Guy Bodenmann.
