Perspective
For couples therapy to be successful, both partners must be willing to work on themselves. Often, however, a certain unwillingness on the part of one side can already be overcome in the first session, when wishes and needs are honestly discussed and hope for a more solved togetherness arises. In couples therapy, the hope for restoration is held out as long as the partners are willing to engage in it.
Duration and costs
First consultative meeting
The first consultation session serves to get to know each other and to clarify the order. If, contrary to expectations, you decide not to start the therapy process after the first session, you will only be charged CHF 80 as compensation for expenses.
Duration and number of advisory meetings
A maximum of 90 minutes is reserved for each session. Couples therapy extends over a minimum of three sessions. The number of sessions is determined individually. In any case, the cycle ends with a final session to be agreed upon in advance.
Billing and invoicing
One hour (60 minutes) costs CHF 175. A reduced rate from CHF 155 is offered on request. The services cannot be billed through the health insurance. However, there is a social fund for couple therapies, which makes it possible to charge a rate far below the stated minimum if necessary. For this purpose, it is necessary to submit the last definitive tax assessment to a trustee office to be designated for classification.
Data protection, confidentiality, complaint
The handling of personal data is governed by the code of honour of ACC, the Association for Christian Counselling and Pastoral Care(www.acc-ch.ch). Any complaints should be addressed to the association.
My person
After a university degree (Ing. ETH) I completed a theological education and then worked for seven years as a pastoral counselor with individuals and couples. Through an extra-occupational study of psychology (Christian Psychology, Ignis Academy, D-Kitzingen) and further education in the field of couple counseling (among others PREPARE/ENRICH) I have access to different ways of coping with partnership problems. My rich experience in working with couples is also based on seventeen years of establishing and leading the preventive couple and family initiative FAMILYLIFE. I achieved the therapeutic qualification in 2015 with a CAS in Couples Therapy at the Psychological Institute of the University of Zurich under the direction of Prof. Guy Bodenmann.
